The public areas, including the parking lot, were immaculate. The vending machine was well stocked. The TV was enormous. Spacious bathroom with very hot water. Nice mix of pillows.

Good room, small but completely suitable. Desk staff found my missing cellphone, just knew from how I was walking around; example of how quietly attentive they are to stuff. Building was nice. Is the entire balustrade along both streets real marble? We think so.

With the free parking, the Grand View Hotel is an excellent value for the price. It is a decent hotel way out in Flushing near the Mets stadium and subway/buses to rest of New York. The neighborhood is very NYC -- grubby, diverse, and lively...not for NYC-haters. The hotel is reasonably well-kept, and everything in my room 302 worked, including a good shower with hot water. Unlike the "pod" hotels there is a desk with chair so you don't have to sit on bed. It was a 15-minute walk to subway (buses available outside hotel) with direct service to Grand Central, though it takes 40+ minutes to get there. The streets are busy until midnight and feel relatively safe. A large grocery store and fast-food joints are 2 blocks away, plus there are lots of food places around, some very authentically Asian.

We liked the location. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. 2 stops away is the metro station and the center of some sort of "Chinatown" where you will find everything. 3 minutes walk away you also find supermarkets, restaurants, etc. The place is clean and has everything you might need (hairdryer, iron with a little table, a safe, fridge) We really loved the place and said that we would definitely return if ever in NYC again. The room is fairly big, with closets and enough storage room. The AC worked miracles.

+ Very comfortable bed + Air conditioning and heating worked really well + Quiet location + Bus stop just in front of the building, subway station 15 minutes on foot or you can take a bus + Very helpful staff (you can ask for room service every time you need it) + Clean bathroom and room + Iron with ironing board in your room + Internet connection worked really good (and it’s for free) + TV has HDMI so we could use our Chromecast and watch Netflix etc. + Coffee maker in room, you can make also tea 24h in the hall + Fridge in our room + Supermarket 5min on foot from hotel

Above all, the staff at the Grandview, especially Stewart, were FANTASTIC! They all knew how to treat a customer with respect and to help them out! I was in a bus from Toronto CA to New York NY and due to the bus schedule, I arrived early. I left my luggage at the hotel but was able to check in before the check in time without any additional payment! This was perfect for me! During my stay, the staff were friendly, always talking to me and helping me with any questions I had! The room itself was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the room's facilities met all my expectations! I have no doubt that when I return to NY, I will be staying at the Grandview again! The hotel was near a supermarket and plenty of shops. The bus stop is right outside the hotel which makes it easy to get to different parts of New York!
